Phil the Pill

This character design was partly inspired by the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic and by the nostalgia of old sci-fi animated shorts. So I came up with Phil, a small green alien like creature who moved around inside a robotic body that was modelled after a medication pill. I originally created the character in Blender 3D for animation but also felt like adding a 2D style as well do I made several renders of the character in both 3D and 2D.

Silverhawk

The idea of Silverhawk came to me when I was getting interested in the idea of making characters in a comic book format. Rather than do it traditionally hand-drawn, I decided to make the character using Blender 3D once again. Inspired by comic book heroes, I came up with the idea of an introverted teen genius, Robert Andrew Ryder, who takes on the role of a vigilante (Silverhawk of course) after gaining heightened senses and strength due to being exposed to experimental chemicals. He is driven to fighting crime in the City of London after his father, a police constable, is killed in an armed robbery. Modelling/rigging the character was done first and then looking up tutorials on different toon shaders and other techniques, I was able to replicate the clipart/comic like look of the character whenever I did renders. This project has been put aside for the time being due to focusing on other ones but I am aiming to continue with it again in the future.
